Jamaican Patties

These are delicious Jamaican pastries that contain spicy meat filling, baked inside a flaky shell, tinted with turmeric for a nice yellow colour.

Coconut Prawn Curry

This is an adaptation of Keralan prawn curry, mildly spiced and with rich coconut favour.

Lamb, Lentil and Spinach Soup

This nourishing meaty soup has a lovely spicy flavour and is very simple to make. Lean leg meat or neck fillet are both good cuts to use.

Lemon and Thyme Pork Schnitzel

Quick and easy to put together (no marination needed), this light crispy pork dish is a nice variation of Wiener schnitzel, with lemon and herb adding plenty of zing. Some Potato Salad on the side is just right with these.

German Potato Bread dough (for bread, sandwich rolls, pies etc.)

German potato bread (Kartoffelbrot) is a deliciously moist, soft bread. It really is multipurpose and can be used for sandwiches or fried. It has fantastic texture, that makes it taste great both as a bread or a savory pie base.

I took this recipe from The Hairy Biker's Big Book of Baking.

South Indian Prawn Curry

This is a dry, spicy curry, flavoured with the sourness of tamarind and the heat of chillies in a thick sauce that clings to the prawns. This variety of curry traditionally is made with freshly grated coconut, so you can easily replace the dry desiccated coconut from the recipe with the fresh one (just skip the water).

This recipe is taken from the book "Great Curries" by The Hairy Bikers and was slightly changed by me.
